Kihon Kunren is a 5-part series of basic drills that build a solid foundation for Aikido training and nurture the seeds for advance practice. This is a new item in the curriculum which will become a rank requirement at AID in July 2025.

Seminar 1: Parts 1 and 2, and Shin Kokyu (Deep Breathing)

Seminar 2: Parts 3, 4 and 5 (to be held on November 9th)

These seminars will be repeated in Spring 2025.

Kihon Kunren is at the core of the Aikido Foundations Course, which is a more intense learning endeavor providing the larger context and support for Kihon Kunren. These one-day seminars are designed for students who cannot participate in the entire Course.
